We have been tasked by the health and well being department to make posters to warn people about the dangers of smoking, which will then be placed up around the college, they provided us with some demonstration pack to try and get some ideas about what sort of themes we should be aiming for;
These example are designed to discourage people to stop smoke and they are also warning people about the risks of smoking.
I like the information circle on the left because it displays the information about the risks of smoking very easily, it does this by laying the information around the edge of the circle and each time you rotate it it will show you how much you can benefit from quitting week by week.
After this we continued to look at posters on the internet that are made by the NHS, here is one that I found that i really liked;
I like this poster because of the show the severity of how much someone can get addicted to cigarettes, this poster is using a technique called shock tactics, this is starting to get used more and more now.
Final Idea
For my final idea I want to use the same shock tactic to stop people from smoking, I also want it to have a dark colour scheme and to have a theme around the lungs.
Their are certain things that we need to include on the poster for example we need to include 3 logos;
There was several stages I wanted to go throughout to design my poster, the first one was to come up with what message I wanted my poster to give of, I wanted to let the viewers know that smoking is very harmful to your body, I tired to convey this my through the colors and the tagline, I used black and a fire graphic to show people that this is something to stay away from, this is because the color black is assisted with death, then I used a rhetorical question to make the reader question do they really want to do this to their health.
